GLUTEOPLASTY THREAD LIFT

The purpose of gluteoplasty (or a Butt Lift) is to correct irregularities, tighten the skin and enhance the overall shape of the buttocks.
If you have untoned or un-shapely buttocks or experience sagging in this region, this procedure can reshape the area and make it more attractive. There are several methods which can be used to perform a gluteoplasty and these most commonly include fat transfer and implants.
At Meditours we offer this procedure by way of a ‘thread lift’.

A thread lift is a much less invasive procedure than most other methods and is performed by making just two small incisions at the highest point of the buttocks. A specifically designed elastic thread is then inserted in and passed through the buttock area which is then used to ’raise and compact’ the subcutaneous tissue by use of a ’lasso stitch’.
This procedure corrects drooping and loss of shape in the buttocks.
Post-surgery the thread, which is biologically compatible with the body, transforms into a ’natural ligament’ which means the results are long lasting.

This will depend on the extent of the surgery; but usually the procedure itself takes between 1 and 2 hours.

During the procedure you will be under local anaesthesia. However, you may experience some pain and discomfort after the surgery as your body heals. You can expect to be sore, swollen and bruised and you should follow the surgeon’s instructions with regard to post op care. After the surgery you will be given painkillers to help with any soreness and discomfort you may be feeling.

Recovery periods can vary between patients and are dependent upon factors such as age, state of health, and your own bodies healing ability.
For at least 6 to 8 weeks post-surgery, you must avoid straining the threads and may need to wear a support girdle. You should take care when sitting and may need to adjust your sleeping position.
You should not attempt any strenuous exercise for a minimum of 3 weeks post-surgery.

In common with all types of surgery, there are certain risks involved. The majority of side effects often prove to be temporary but can include infections and lack of sensitivity in the treated area.
