WHAT IS GLUTEOPLASTY? - BODY SURGERY
The purpose of gluteoplasty (or a Butt Lift) is to correct irregularities, tighten the skin and enhance the overall shape of the buttocks.
If you have untoned or un-shapely buttocks or experience sagging in this region, this procedure can reshape the area and make it more attractive. There are several methods which can be used to perform a gluteoplasty and these most commonly include fat transfer and implants.
At Meditours we offer this procedure by way of a ‘thread lift’.
WHAT IS A THREAD LIFT? - BODY SURGERY
This procedure corrects drooping and loss of shape in the buttocks.
Post-surgery the thread, which is biologically compatible with the body, transforms into a ’natural ligament’ which means the results are long lasting.
IS THIS PROCEDURE SUITABLE FOR ME? - BODY SURGERY
Your suitability will be determined by consultation with a surgeon who will take into account factors such as your current health and medical history. The consultation will enable you to come to an informed decision.
If you want shapelier and higher buttocks without the significant scarring or increased size which can result from fat transfer or implants, then this procedure could be right for you.
IS THIS PROCEDURE SUITABLE FOR ME? - BODY SURGERY
The main benefits of this procedure are that your buttocks will look firmer and more uplifted.
With a thread lift you can obtain more shapely buttocks with minimal scarring.
Furthermore you will have an enhanced buttock shape but without increased volume.
WILL IT LEAVE A SCAR? - BODY SURGERY
Unlike traditional buttock lift surgery, which can leave significant scars, the thread lift is a lot less invasive and therefore leaves minimal scarring.
The small incisions from your lift surgery will heal and fade over time.
In addition, the incisions for your lift are in locations which are easily concealed by clothing.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST? - BODY SURGERY
The results are generally long term. However the natural effects of aging will inevitably have an effect on the shape of your buttocks.
To achieve the best results possible, you should adhere to the surgeon’s post-surgical recommendations.
HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE TAKE? - BODY SURGERY
This will depend on the extent of the surgery; but usually the procedure itself takes between 1 and 2 hours.
WILL I EXPERIENCE ANY PAIN? - BODY SURGERY
During the procedure you will be under local anaesthesia. However, you may experience some pain and discomfort after the surgery as your body heals. You can expect to be sore, swollen and bruised and you should follow the surgeon’s instructions with regard to post op care. After the surgery you will be given painkillers to help with any soreness and discomfort you may be feeling.
WHAT KIND OF POST-OPERATIVE CARE CAN I EXPECT? - BODY SURGERY
We provide private, self-catering accommodation with first class post-operative nursing care. Our English speaking nurses are highly trained and experienced in cosmetic surgery. Your visits are organized daily immediately after discharge. These visits take into consideration, your needs and are timed at your convenience.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME? HOW LONG BEFORE I AM ACTIVE AGAIN? - BODY SURGERY
Recovery periods can vary between patients and are dependent upon factors such as age, state of health, and your own bodies healing ability.
For at least 6 to 8 weeks post-surgery, you must avoid straining the threads and may need to wear a support girdle. You should take care when sitting and may need to adjust your sleeping position.
You should not attempt any strenuous exercise for a minimum of 3 weeks post-surgery.
WHAT ARE THE RISKS INVOLVED? - BODY SURGERY
In common with all types of surgery, there are certain risks involved. The majority of side effects often prove to be temporary but can include infections and lack of sensitivity in the treated area.
Full information of the risks involved, and what you can expect to experience, will be provided to you by your surgeon before the procedure.
