Also you will probably find that a lot of the initial discomfort and difficulty has gone now and things are getting easier every day – think about how hard it is riding a bike or going for a run if you haven’t done it for a while but how quickly you get used to it when you do it on a daily basis.
2 FOCUS ON THE PROCESS
Why it works:
The trouble with setting a big goal is that at first it can seem just too daunting and impossible.
For example, if you have decided you want to compete in a triathlon, a Spartan race or a Three Peaks Challenge, well they are huge goals that can easily overwhelm you right at the offset.
So instead only focus on the daily processes that you need to achieve, and you will find that you can immediately enjoy some small successes every single day (which will help keep you motivated for the much bigger goal on the horizon).
3 FIND YOUR PURPOSE!
Why it works:
In order to reach any goal, it is much easier if you really know what and why you doing it.
Once you have established your ‘why’ you can then go about specifically planning concrete ways of reaching that goal.
So for example, saying you want to be able to run 3 consecutive miles in under twenty minutes to lose a stone in weight and become slimmer and fitter and so you can fit in your wedding dress is much better than just saying something vague like “I want to get fit and lose weight”.
