1. TAKE TIME TO REFLECT
Just set aside 5 – 10 minutes to mindfully and calmly reflect on your thoughts, feelings and the day ahead. This can take the form of a simple meditation or if its easier a short walk in the fresh air.
It really doesn’t matter too much how you do it. It’s just a great way to settle the ‘monkey mind’, dispel any negativity and relieve yourself of unwanted stress. It’s also a perfect time to remember to be grateful for everything that you already have in your life and to be in the now!
2. KEEP A DIARY OR JOURNAL
Instead of picking up your smartphone and updating your social media status why not spend a few moments writing a journal. It's the perfect way of setting your intentions for the day ahead, going over recent events and putting your thoughts down on paper. If you want you could even keep a dream diary to help boost creativity and keep track of what’s going on in your psyche and look for recurring patterns and themes!
3. EXERCISE
That’s right, get the body moving! Even if it’s just a short workout, a yoga stretch or a quick jog around the block it's a great way to kick start the metabolism, shake off the cobwebs and of course stay in shape.
Plus it gives you an energy boost, makes you more alert and even makes you happier.
