I am writing to tell you of my experience in Hungary. After checking several alternatives around the world, including Poland, South Africa and U.K., I decided to contact Dr Randy Simor of Meditours Hungary as I was interested in having a face lift and an upper eye lift.From the start Randy was most efficient at answering all my queries by email and once I was satisfied with the replies given to my questions, I decided to have my surgery in Budapest.
Randy went ahead and booked my consultation with Dr Katho, a very qualified surgeon (CV given on request). He also booked an apartment and all transfers from the airport and any transfers needed to and from the clinic. All I had to do was book my return flight to Budapest, however he did also offer this service.
On arrival (28.03.07) I was picked up by taxi and taken to the apartment. Randy was there to meet me and at this point he went through the schedule for the next day for the pre-surgical consultations and surgery.
The next morning Randy was there to escort me to the clinic and at this point I was introduced to the surgeon Dr Katho. I was given a health check which included all bloods, ECG and blood pressure. Dr Katho then went through the operation process and advised that I had the option to have either local or full anaesthesia. I opted for the local.
I also took the opportunity to check the clinic and the surrounds and I found it to be very modern, extremely clean and the staff highly efficient.
Later that day I went ahead with the procedure and found it to be a lot less stressful than I had imagined. Dr Katho proved to be very patient and would stop for a few minutes if I was becoming uncomfortable, mainly due to stiffness from lying still during the procedure. The procedure took approximately 4.5 hours from start to finish and I left to go back to my department after a short rest and some refreshments.
I was amazed to find that within 3 days of having a full face lift and an upper eye lift that I was able to do some ‘gentle’ sightseeing – a lovely trip down the river Danube was a great tonic.
I have since returned home and I am most pleased with the results and have had no problem with the healing process what-so-ever.
I would certainly recommend Meditours to anyone considering surgery and would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Randy Simor, Dr Katho and staff for making my experience stress free and very well co-ordinated.
