Hospital and Clinics
As in the UK and other countries, Hungary's healthcare system consists of both state and private hospitals and clinics. All Hungarian citizens are obliged to contribute to the financing of public healthcare institutions, but there are also luxury private clinics in Budapest for those who are able to pay. Most of the leading doctors and surgeons consult and operate in both.

Private Clinics: Meditours uses the facilities of several hand-picked private outpatient, medical, and cosmetic surgery clinics, where our patients can relax and enjoy the more luxurious and comfortable facilities and surroundings. One and two-bedded en-suite inpatient rooms with TV, air-conditioning, and telephones are available. Meals are provided on an a la carte basis and patients' special requests can be catered for. All our clinics are easily accessible and only a few minutes away from the main tourist centre of the city.

State Hospitals

Most of the State hospitals were built during the beginning of the 20th century, with little renovation and modernisation taking place during 40 years of Socialism. However, although they still retain their original old-fashioned exteriors, inside they are spotlessly clean, bright, and welcoming. They were built around courtyards and gardens, and Hungarian patients can often be seen sitting outside enjoying the fresh air in their dressing gowns!

Meditours only works with state hospitals that have up-to-date, modern, hygienic cosmetic surgery departments, operating theatres, post-operative recovery rooms, and fully renovated two and three-bedded private inpatient rooms with en-suite facilities, TV and air conditioning. Most patients only spend one night in a hospital or clinic and find their surroundings more than adequate for their needs.

Post-operative inpatient two-bedded en-suite rooms are fully renovated and modernised and provide TV and air-conditioning.
